Envisors was retained to work with Pickett Hunter and Associates and the Polk County Facilities Management Division to prepare the civil site engineering construction plans, assist with the attainment of permits, and perform construction observation and certification services for the Winter Haven Area Transit Facility a/k/a Winter Haven Downtown Transfer Facility located at Avenue E N.E. Street and 4th N.E. Street.

Envisors’ project scope consisted of the design and permitting for the construction of bus terminal which included 12 bays, public restrooms, handicap accommodations and ADA accessibility features, a driver lounge, a ticket sales office and shelter, a 2,000 sq ft. main building with a 42 ft. high architecture tower. This work included the preparation of dimensioned site plans, grading and drainage plans, and potable water and sanitary sewer plans for the 2-acre site. This project was reviewed by the City of Winter Haven, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Southwest Florida Water Management District, and Polk County Facilities Management.

Construction began in the middle of 2007 and was completed in March 2008.

This project recently won an Eagle Award from the Central Florida Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors at the 2008 Excellence in Construction Awards.
